Panorama City Community-Based Transportation Study

CalTrans Community-based Transportation Study: Panorama City

ICON CDC recognizes that it is imperative for local government, community organizations, businesses, and residents to work together to address local transportation issues. In 2008, ICON CDC completed its first community-based transportation study: the Pacoima Transportation and Community Planning Strategy for a Livable Community.

In 2012, ICON CDC staff and partners will begin a second community-based transportation planning study focused in a portion of Van Nuys Blvd in Panorama City. In partnership with Caltrans and the California Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles (CRA/LA) ICON CDC will work with stakeholders to identify transportation and environmental justice issues along a selected stretch of Van Nuys Blvd.

Over a 16-month period, ICON CDC staff and partners will conduct workshops, surveys, and meetings to develop a community-driven transportation action plan. This plan will outline proposed improvements, programs, and strategies to mitigate negative impacts of the regional transportation system and to improve mobility, access, housing options, and economic opportunity in this underserved community.
