North Valley BusinessSource Center Helps Non Emergency Medical Trans Keep The Wheels Rolling Through The Pandemic

Angels of Hope Med Trans Inc. is a non-emergency medical transportation company in Sylmar, CA that opened its doors to serve the community. Armando, CEO, incorporated as a one member S-Corp in May 2019 and officially launched in the City of Los Angeles in January 2020 with assistance from the North Valley BusinessSource Center. Armando, has 7+ years of experience in the non-emergency medical transportation field and was inspired to open his own business when he heard all the positive feedback from customers who specifically requested that he be their driver.

Angels of Hope Med Trans Inc. was still in its infancy when the pandemic hit. Armando may not have been able to take as many customers as he would have pre-pandemic, but he continued working to get his business in the best position for success. Throughout the pandemic, Armando worked on obtaining required permits from LADOT and established as a Medi-Cal Transportation Provider.

Since 2019, the North and South Valley BusinessSource Centers have worked with Angels of Hope Med Trans Inc. on business plan development, the creation of balance sheets and profit and loss statements. With his newfound knowledge and assistance from Alma Torres, a Financial Business Coach at the North Valley BusinessSource Center, Angels of Hope was able to apply and receive funding from 6 different lenders and grant opportunities totalling $30,000.

“Thanks to Alma Torres’ exceptional customer service and assistance we were able to get a SBA Loan during the pandemic. The loans helped a great deal during the pandemic shut down. It allowed us to remain open and pay our bills. Had we not received the loan and grants we would not be in business at this time. The loans and grants were a tremendous help.”

The North Valley BusinessSource Center in partnership with the North East Valley WorkSource Center are working together to assist with recruitment for a receptionist and driver for Angels of Hope Med Trans Inc. With the loans and grants awarded to Angels of Hope, the Medi-Cal Transportation Provider Certification in the pipeline, and customers feeling more confident and comfortable requesting transportation services, Angels of Hope is on its way to reaching their goals. They pride themselves in sticking to their values of Safety, Care, and Reliability and hope to offer additional services.

An important part of their future goals is to start making donations to the Children’s Hospitals LA to show the gratitude and appreciation to the staff that helped his family when two of his daughters needed to use their services.

If you or someone you know needs non-medial transportation services in Council District 7, please reach out to Angels of Hope Med Trans Inc. by visiting their website at https://www.angelsofhopemedtrans.com/.
