North Valley BusinessSource Center Provides Support to Keep Open Swiss Cleaners in Sylmar

Isabel Vides has worked in the dry cleaning industry for 5 years, where she started as a presser and eventually was promoted to manager, which is where she learned how to handle and manage the business. That’s when she decided to become an entrepreneur and launched her business on July 9, 2019, as a sole proprietorship. In 2021 Isabel Vides incorporated and since then has been the owner of Swiss Cleaners in the city of Sylmar, CA. Swiss Cleaners is located in City Council District 7.

During the pandemic her business and sales dropped, and she needed to catch up on her rent and utilities. As a result, Ms. Vides closed her business temporarily, causing her to lose money. On February 5, 2021, Ms. Vides contacted the North Valley BusinessSource for support. The Business Consultants assisted her with applying for the PPP, Comeback Check Grant, and Rental Assistance, which helped her get back on her feet

Unfortunately, in December 2022, one of the dry cleaning machines broke. Isabel contacted the NVBSC for guidance in applying for a business loan and wanted to see if she could qualify for additional working capital for outstanding payments. Isabel is requesting a loan amount of $15K. The BSC coach assisted the client in gathering all the necessary documents and began seeking a lender. After the BSC coach Brandon Mojica analyzed the documents, he decided to submit a loan application with TMC Capital. On 02/02/2023, TMC Capital approved the loan request in the total amount of $8,000 to repair the equipment that allowed Ms. Vides to continue running her business.

Isabel is now recommending the North Valley BusinessSource Center to any business owner who needs help. “The center helped me so much to keep me afloat and stabilized my business,” she said. “Now, I’m growing the business and couldn’t have done it without their help.”
