South Valley BusinessSource Center Helps Launch Sidewalk Vending Business

When news of COVID-19 caused people to “panic buy,” Isabel Baleon-Sandoval realized that saving money was a priority during moments of crisis. “To me, It seemed unfair that people had to buy expensive cleaning products to stay safe from the virus. I wanted to start a business that could help people save money while obtaining quality products.”

As soon as Isabel heard that the City of Los Angeles was legalizing sidewalk vending, she decided to launch Ellie’s Online Deals. Isabel was recommended to contact the South Valley BusinessSource Center and speak with Business Coach Jessica Acevedo for guidance.

South Valley BusinessSource Center Provides Assistance

Jessica assisted Isabel with obtaining the proper licenses and permits, including the Streets LA permit, to launch Ellie’s Online Deals and created one job for herself as

a business owner. Isabel was also assisted with developing a marketing strategy which included creating a Facebook and Instagram to promote her products and was advised on the importance of brand awareness and the benefits of building a strong social media presence.

“Jessica was very nice with me and was always available to answer any questions. She is very knowledgeable, professional and patient. She provided me with all the resources needed and even helped me with my marketing. I would definitely recommend the South Valley BusinessSource Center. They make the process of starting your business very easy.”

Sidewalk Vendor’s Future Goals – Ellie’s Online Sales

Isabel’s goal is to launch her own website, sell via Ebay and Amazon, launch a subscription service, and implement delivery options for Ellie’s Online Deals. She is currently working with Jessica to make it all possible.

If you would like to shop for quality cleaning supplies at fair prices, visit Ellie’s Online Deals on Saturdays between 7 AM and 2 PM at Lanark Recreation Center located at 21816 Lanark St. in Canoga Park.

In order to comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines, Isabel completed the COVID-19 Safety Compliance Certificate Program Training so she could offer her clients a safe outdoor shopping experience.
