Business Survival Center Success Story
Mandy’s Laundry
Mandy’s Laundry has served the Van Nuys community for five years. When construction near Van Nuys Boulevard and Sherman Way blocked access to the business, revenue dropped dramatically. After months of relying on savings to stay open, owners Oscar Vazquez and his wife reached a point where they were facing the possibility of selling or closing the business. Through the ICON CDC Business Survival Center, Oscar received hands-on assistance navigating the Metro Fund process. ICON CDC staff helped coordinate communication, move the application forward, and respond when the business faced an urgent eviction deadline. Mandy’s Laundry ultimately received $120,000 in funding, giving the business what Oscar called a “reset button” and an opportunity to remain open and continue serving the community. mandys laudnry
Sidewalk Vending Program
