Dozens of domestic workers in Los Angeles have been struggling to survive after losing their jobs when the January fires forced many employers to leave their homes.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and City Councilmember Imelda Padilla on Thursday, Jan. 30, gave cash aid to service workers who lost income because of the recent wildfires.

Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez Creates a Relief Fund for Service Sector Workers Affected by Recent Wildfires - Councilwoman Rodriguez is allocating $25,000 in discretionary funds from District 7 and partnering with ICON CDC, which will match the contribution with an additional $25,000, bringing the total relief fund to $50,000. ICON CDC operates Los Angeles Business Resource Centers in the Northeast and South San Fernando Valley, supporting small businesses and self-employed workers.
