South Valley BusinessSource Center Helps Youth Entrepreneur Launch Family Owned Business

Carlos, also known as Charly, was an undergraduate student at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) when he participated in the Youth Entrepreneur Training Program offered by the South Valley Business Source Center in the Summer of 2017. After taking the 8-week training, Charly applied for an internship with the South Valley Business Source Center in the Fall of 2017. This internship was required as part of his specialization in Communication Design to learn more about branding, market strategies, and media content creation. As a result of his experience interning with the South Valley BusinessSource Center, Charly decided to start his own screen printing business upon graduation from CSUN with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design.

The South Valley BusinessSource Center assisted Charly with applying for his Business Tax Registration Certificate, Seller’s Permit, and Fictitious Business Name. He was also assisted with cost-structure and marketing. On August 5, 2019, Charly’s Screen Printing successfully launched in Van Nuys as a family-owned business creating three jobs employing both Charly’s father and mother.
