Famous Apples
Famous Apples in Northridge was in the middle of planning their Grand Opening for Friday, July 12th with VEDC assistance and became alarmed when they could not get a hold of someone. They were able to get referred to the South Valley BusinessSource Center by Ruth Aguilera from Build WorkSource Center who took a proactive approach and began assisting them immediately.
The South Valley BusinessSource Center began by making calls to city officials and the chamber of commerce to find out how much of the planning was done. The Mayor's office had been invited and the representative due to attend was about to cancel his appearance because he too was unsure what was going on. The South Valley BusinessSource Center confirmed the event and was able to confirm the Mayor's office representative Robert Park appearance for ribbon cutting and award ceremony. The South Valley BusinessSource Center was also able to connect with a representative from local council member Greg Smith's (CD12) office and secured the business a certificate of recognition.
In addition to assisting the business owners with their Grand Opening, the business owners have been working with the South Valley BusinessSource Center for assistance with social media marketing, including Facebook, Instagram and customer service, event planning, access to capital consulting and also attended our workshop on How to Choose a Business Entity at the Studio City Library on Wednesday, July 10th.
