South Valley BusinessSource Center Helps Plumbing Company Save Jobs And Provides New Opportunities
Victor is the C.E.O and President of Top Mechanical Plumbers, Inc. a licensed company specializing in plumbing services for new residential and commercial construction located in Council District 7. With over 20 years of experience working as a union plumber in Los Angeles, Victor decided to establish his own business in 2015 to create more jobs in his community, hiring local project managers and certified plumbers.
In addition to residential homes, hospitals, schools, and gas stations projects, Top Mechanical Plumbers has also catered to several large-scale companies such as Jiffy Lubes, Starbucks, and 7-11 stores. It wasn’t until the COVID-19 pandemic began that Victor was forced to close his business due to several contract cancellations. With no income coming in and debt accumulating, he had to give up his office and lay off his employees.
In February 2021, Victor enrolled with the South Valley BusinessSource Center when he casually overheard BSC Coach Jessica Acevedo outreaching to the business located at Plaza del Valle in Panorama City. The BSC Coach introduced Victor to the many free services that the South Valley BusinessSource Center had to offer, including assistance with the applying for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
The BSC Coach assisted Victor with loan preparation assistance to complete the PPP application, calculating the maximum loan amount, and guidance with gathering necessary documents. He was also provided with a detailed explanation on how to qualify for the PPP Loan Forgiveness.
Top Mechanical Plumbers, Inc. was approved for a PPP loan and funded a total of $27,210. The loan helped, Victor retain two full time job positions, an administrative position and a certified plumber. The funds have also helped pay off debt, and gain new business opportunities.

Currently, the South Valley BusinessSource Center is assisting Victor with more financing options including the SBA EIDL and the CA Relief Grant. With additional financing, Victor plans to adapt to the new norm by purchasing equipment that will allow his company to offer repair services and attract new professionals that wish to grow with his company.
