Ambition Barbershop
Ambition Barbershops owner, Bertha, has been in the barber industry for the past 17 years and upon obtaining her barber license decided to open up her own barbershop. She contacted the South Valley Business Source Center after learning from one of her clients about the free services provided. She was then provided with help finding a location, obtaining the necessary licenses/permits including business tax registration certificate, seller’s permit, and employee identification number. Additionally the Business Source Center assisted Ambition Barbershop with creating an online presence and training regarding social media platforms. Ambition Barbershop is now looking to hire two new employees and was referred to the West Valley WorkSource Center to assist her with filling these jobs.
Bertha aims to establish Ambition Barbershop as the go-to barbershop in the San Fernando Valley and eventually open a second location. Bertha obtained her barber license from the State of California via the apprenticeship program, she is a single mother and a cancer survivor, the Business Source is proud to be of service to a role model and leader in our community.
Bertha has been working with the South Valley BusinessSource Center since June and has been assisted with the following services;
Licenses and Permits including Business Tax Registration Certificate, Seller’s Permit and Employee Identification Number
Marketing Assistance
Access to Capital Consultation
Referral to WorkSource Center to hire 2 new employees
Procurement and Certification
On October 5, 2018 the South Valley BusinessSource Center will be supporting Bertha with the formal grand opening ceremony of Ambition Barbershop located at 7600 Balboa Blvd #202, Van Nuys, CA 91406.
